This study aims to investigate gender issues in education, especially in Early Childhood Education. This study generally aims to analyze the implementation of gender-responsive education in PAUD, while the specific objective is to describe the influence of teachers with certain religious backgrounds on the implementation and the influence of teachers' perceptions of gender concepts on the implementation. This study uses a quantitative cross-sectional survey method. The population in this study was all PAUD teachers in two sub-districts in Yogyakarta, totaling 52 PAUD teachers. A stratified cluster random sampling technique was conducted in two stages. Data was collected using closed questionnaires tested empirically for validity and reliability. The analysis techniques in this study were simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression, which had previously met the prerequisite tests for normality, linearity, heteroscedasticity, and multicollinearity. The results of the study indicate that: (1) There is an influence of the background of teachers who teach in religious-based schools on the learning carried out by these teachers in the classroom; (2) The teacher's perspective or perception has an influence on the implementation of gender-responsive education in the PAUD where the teacher works; (3) There is an influence of different religious backgrounds on the teacher's perception of gender concepts on the implementation of gender-responsive education in PAUD.
Laili Hanifah Copyright (c) 2025 Laili Hanifah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/422 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Identifying the Driving Factors and Individual Attachment to Terrorist Groups: A Case Study of a Former JAD Member https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/509
Terrorist radicalization has become a tangible threat to global security, including in Indonesia, as many individuals remain exposed to radical ideologies and join terrorist groups. This study aims to understand the driving factors behind individuals' decisions to enter and the causes of their attachment to terrorist groups, using the case study of SMA (a former member of JAD). This research employs a qualitative method through direct interviews with SMA. The findings indicate that terrorism radicalization is a gradual process of transformation involving changes in worldview, identity shifts, and strengthened loyalty to the group, culminating in an individual's readiness to carry out acts of terror. In the case of SMA, social injustice and relative deprivation, particularly towards state institutions, served as driving factors for joining a terrorist group. The study also finds that individual attachment to terrorist groups may be influenced by psychological, social, and emotional aspects, wherein the terrorist group can serve as an ideological “home” for its members, and the “Ustad” within the group may function as an ideological “father.” Therefore, deradicalization programs should not only focus on ideology or the fulfillment of economic needs but also consider psychological and social aspects. This is because the driving factors and stages of radicalization for each terrorist group member are unique, thus requiring differentiated handling approaches.
Admiral Ariyanta, Sapto Priyanto, Imam Subandi Copyright (c) 2025 Admiral Ariyanta, Sapto Priyanto, Imam Subandi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/509 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Curriculum Analysis of the Undergraduate Program in Arabic Language Education at IAIN Pontianak: Relevance, Objectives, and Implementation https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/517
This research aims to analyze the curriculum of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at IAIN Pontianak, focusing on the aspects of relevance, objectives, and implementation. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with document analysis methods. Data is obtained from curriculum documents and the vision-mission of the study program, as well as analysis of student theses, to assess the alignment between academic policy directions and research practices. The analysis results show that the curriculum of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at IAIN Pontianak integrates the study of Arabic language education, religious values, and elements of Borneo culture, which are formulated in the vision, mission, objectives, course structure, and academic programs such as drama-based muhadatsah. This integration has become a characteristic that distinguishes this study program from other Arabic language education programs in Indonesia. However, weaknesses are still found in the selection of thesis topics by students, which generally focus on pedagogical issues and have not widely examined the cultural dimensions of Borneo. The limitation of this research lies in its scope, which is only based on document analysis without supporting field data. Further research is recommended to study the implementation of the curriculum through field studies in analyzing the curriculum.
Muhammad Amin Khalil, Sahri Sahri, Moh Yusuf Hidayat, Ahmad Fadhail Ramadhan Copyright (c) 2025 Muhammad Amin Khalil, Sahri Sahri, Moh Yusuf Hidayat, Ahmad Fadhail Ramadhan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/517 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Electronic Service Quality and Islamic Social Finance Integration: Case Study from Kitabisa.com https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/541
The purpose of this research is to examine the application of electronic service quality and digital payment service integration using Islamic principles in the Kitabisa.com system. The research method used in this study is qualitative, employing observation analysis and literature study techniques. The results of this study indicate that the electronic service quality available on the Kitabisa.com application greatly facilitates users and enhances their satisfaction. Regarding payment service integration using Islamic principles, it also strongly supports donors in making digital donations. The result also states that kitabisa is a medium for strengthening social solidarity and trust between users and beneficiaries. The combination of quality technology services, ease of digital transactions, and alignment with religious values makes Kitabisa.com a successful example of Sharia-based crowdfunding that can be used as a reference for the development of social digital services in the future The obstacles in this study were the limited primary data involving active respondents from the Kitabisa.com user community, making it difficult to describe the variability of donors' attitudes and motivations comprehensively.
M. Cholil Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/533
Religious moderation is a movement that embodies important commitments to maintaining harmonious interfaith relations. The implementation of moderate Islam refers to applying Islam in a balanced manner, neither extreme nor liberal. This study aims to explore religious life, particularly among the congregation of Surau Syaichona Moh Cholil in Malaysia, and how they implement moderate Islam. Most of the congregation members are Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) who have lived in Malaysia for a long time and established the surau as a center for religious activities. This study is descriptive qualitative research that describes the conditions at the location according to the reality on the ground. The study found that the congregation of Syaichona Moh. Cholil Mosque has implemented moderate Islam, as evidenced by four indicators of religious moderation: first, national commitment. The congregation still has a strong sense of patriotism despite having lived in Malaysia for a long time, as evidenced by their continued celebration of Indonesian Independence Day and their love for Indonesian domestic products. Second is tolerance, as the congregation members respect others of different ethnicities and religions. Third, anti-violence, which is reflected in their attitudes and teaching methods that prioritize wisdom and avoid violent behavior, whether verbal or physical. Fourth, adaptability to local culture: the congregation continues to observe Islamic holidays such as Maulid Nabi and participates in local traditions such as distributing food according to local customs.
Fera Andriani Djakfar , M. However, a number of textually contradictory hadiths have been found between the call for tolerance and the order of war against non-Muslims. This study aims to analyze and reconcile the meaning of these traditions through a qualitative approach based on a literature study, using a descriptive-analytical method. The approach of mukhtalif al-ḥadīs and supported by the framework of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah to interpret the purpose of Islamic law as a whole. The results show that the traditions on tolerance apply in peaceful situations and contain the principle of protection of human life, religion, and honor. In contrast, the war traditions are understood contextually as responses to real threats or violations of peace treaties, not as instruments of theological aggression. Thus, the study asserts that reconciliation of the hadith is only possible through a historical, contextual and teleological approach that does not separate the text from the overall purpose of the Shari'ah. The implication of this study is the importance of understanding the hadith as a whole so that it is not used to justify violence in the name of religion.
Amrullah, Muhammaddiyah Amin, La Ode Ismail Ahmad, M. In the modern era, both Muslim and Western scholars recognize that humanity is facing a major moral crisis, in which scientific and technological progress has the potential to erode the essence of humanity. This study aims to analyze the concepts of ethics and religion, as well as their roles in building social harmony. This study offers a multidisciplinary and integrative approach to highlight how ethics and religion synergize in shaping the moral foundation of society. This study uses a descriptive and qualitative approach through a literature review, analyzing the concepts of ethics and religion and their contributions to social harmony. The findings reveal a strong connection between ethics and religion; both evaluate the goodness or badness of human actions. Ethics, rooted in common sense and conscience, serves as a rational guide, while religion, derived from divine revelation, provides a spiritual foundation that gives meaning and direction to life. Both function as individual rules and systems to maintain social balance, justice, and human dignity. Their collaboration fosters civilized individuals and forms the basis for sustainable civilization development.
Ahmad Diaz Makmur, Haris Kulle, Ratnah Umar, Afifah Idhelma Makmur Copyright (c) 2025 Ahmad Diaz Makmur, Haris Kulle, Ratnah Umar, Afifah Idhelma Makmur https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/526 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Live Streaming And The Spectacle Culture: A Critique of Modern Life Through The Lens of Maqāṣid Al-Syarī‘Ah https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/567
This study critically investigates live streaming as a contemporary form of spectacle and examines its ethical, spiritual, and socio-cultural implications through the lens of Maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah. Live streaming has emerged as a pervasive phenomenon in the digital era, shaping interaction, consumption, and value formation patterns. While it provides unprecedented opportunities for self-expression, entertainment, and social connectivity, it also generates concerns about the commodification of attention, the superficiality of online engagement, and the erosion of deeper moral and spiritual orientations. Adopting a qualitative literature review design, this research synthesizes scholarly works from digital media studies, existential philosophy, and Islamic legal theory. The data set comprises peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and authoritative online sources published primarily within the last decade. Thematic content analysis was employed to identify recurring patterns related to the transformation of values in online interactions, particularly the shift from substance to image, and from intrinsic meaning to performative visibility. The findings reveal that excessive consumption of live streaming content contributes to ethical disorientation, weakens the internalization of moral values, and fosters an environment where identity is increasingly defined by curated appearances rather than authentic essence. Within this context, Maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, articulated through its five higher objectives, ḥifẓ al-dīn (protection of religion), ḥifẓ al-nafs (protection of life), ḥifẓ al-‘aql (protection of intellect), ḥifẓ al-nasl (protection of lineage), and ḥifẓ al-māl (protection of wealth), offers a comprehensive normative framework to assess and address these challenges. The study proposes ethically grounded and spiritually conscious approaches to digital engagement by integrating classical Islamic legal principles with contemporary media critique. This article contributes to contemporary Islamic scholarship by offering a conceptual framework to interpret the dominance of spectacle culture while proposing spiritually conscious and ethically grounded responses.
Abdillah Achmad Al Faruq, Hudzaifah Achmad Qotadah Qotadah, Adang Darmawan Achmad, Abdurrahman Achmad Al Anshary Copyright (c) 2025 Abdillah Achmad Al Faruq, Hudzaifah Achmad Qotadah Qotadah, Adang Darmawan Achmad, Abdurrahman Achmad Al Anshary https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/567 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Emotional Intelligence Development of Students Through Tahfidz Program At Al-Amri Islamic Boarding School Probolinggo https://journal.staitaruna.ac.id/index.php/ijith/article/view/519
This study aims to explore the contribution of the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an program in fostering the emotional intelligence of students (santri) at Pondok Pesantren Kyai Sekar Al-Amri, Probolinggo Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, this research illustrates how values such as patience, discipline, sincerity, and empathy are systematically internalized through structured routines, musyrif mentorship, and daily spiritual practices. The findings indicate that tahfidz is not merely a memorization activity but serves as an integral medium of character education based on Qur'anic values, effectively enhancing emotional regulation, mental resilience, and positive habits among students. This study recommends the integration of emotional aspects into the tahfidz curriculum, along with strengthening the capacity of musyrif as spiritual and emotional role models in pesantren education.
Naura Afkarina, M Jadid Khadavi Copyright (c) 2025 Naura Afkarina, M.
