Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of the Kemuning Village community, Kresek District, Tangerang Regency, in developing bonsai plants as ornamental art products with aesthetic and economic value. The main problems identified were the limited utilization of local plant resources and the lack of community skills in transforming plants into creative value-added products. The activity was implemented using a participatory approach through several stages, including community needs identification, socialization of the Mini Green Art concept, basic bonsai cultivation and maintenance training, practical sessions, and activity evaluation. The program involved 24 participants from Kemuning Village. The results demonstrated an improvement in participants’ understanding of bonsai as living art, including plant selection techniques, structural formation, pruning, and maintenance practices. In addition to improving technical skills, the activity enhanced community awareness regarding the potential development of bonsai as a creative economic product based on local resources. The Mini Green Art program contributes to community empowerment by promoting creativity, environmental utilization, and sustainable ornamental plant entrepreneurship opportunities. This activity is expected to become an initial step in developing local-based creative businesses and strengthening community independence through environmentally friendly innovations.
